Terms of service

Last Updated: October 24, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you (the “User”) and Pheno AB (“Pheno,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), company reg. no. 559499-9129, with its registered office at Döbelnsgatan 16B, 113 58 Stockholm, Sweden. They govern your access to and use of the Pheno Health platform, including our website, mobile and web applications, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.

1.Who May Use the Services

The Services are available only to individuals who are at least 18 years old and resident in a market where Pheno offers the Services. By using the Services you confirm that you meet these requirements. Some features may have additional eligibility requirements that are shown within the Services.

2.Nature of the Services

Pheno provides a digital health and wellness platform that helps you collect, view, and understand health-related information — such as blood biomarker results, wearable metrics, and lifestyle inputs — and that generates educational insights, scores, and non-prescriptive lifestyle and supplementation suggestions.

Pheno is a wellness and health-information service. It is not a medical device. It helps you understand and follow your own health over time. It does not diagnose, and it does not detect, prevent, predict, monitor or treat any disease: it does not tell you that you have, or do not have, any specific condition, it does not direct or change medical treatment, and it does not replace care from a healthcare provider. Your blood samples are analysed by an accredited partner laboratory, and each value is shown with that laboratory’s own reference interval. Using the Services does not create a doctor–patient relationship. Insights are generated by automated systems and are not individually reviewed by a clinician before you see them. Every result is checked against safe limits, and critical values are escalated for follow-up. All outputs are informational and educational only. Pheno AB is responsible for the Services under applicable product safety law.

3.Your Account

To use the Services you register an account using Mobilt BankID or a valid email address. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your contact details up to date, and for all activity that occurs under your account. You may not share, transfer, or allow anyone else to use your account. Notify us promptly at support@pheno.health if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

4.Medical Disclaimer & Emergency Use

The Services are intended as a digital support for general health and wellness and are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician, 1177 Vårdguiden, or another qualified healthcare provider with any questions you have about a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you have read or seen in the Services.

The Services are not for emergencies. They must never be used to assess, manage, or respond to an acute or life-threatening condition. In an emergency, or if you experience acute symptoms, contact the emergency number for your country (112 within the EU) or go to the nearest emergency department immediately. For healthcare advice, call 1177.

5.Protected Personal Data

The Services are not offered to persons with protected personal data under Swedish law (for example a confidentiality marker, skyddad folkbokföring, or fictitious personal data). If you have protected personal data (skyddade personuppgifter), you should not create an account or use the Services.

6.Laboratory Testing and Third-Party Data

Pheno works with accredited laboratories that operate under international quality standards, including ISO 15189 for medical laboratories and ISO 9001 for quality management. You may also upload results obtained from third parties, such as other healthcare providers. Pheno makes no representations as to the accuracy or validity of third-party data you upload and is not liable for errors arising from it. Test kits must be redeemed within twelve (12) months of purchase. No refunds are issued after a biological sample has been collected, except where required by law or in cases of verified laboratory error.

7.Health Data, Privacy, and Employer Programs

Our handling of your personal data, including the explicit consent we rely on to process health data under Article 9(2)(a) GDPR, is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Services you acknowledge that processing. If you access the Services through an employer-sponsored program, your employer receives only anonymised, aggregated data about collective usage and outcomes; your individual health data is never shared with your employer unless you explicitly consent.

8.Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • provide false, misleading, or inaccurate information;
  • misuse the Services’ features, payment flows, or processes, or attempt to circumvent any conditions, fees, or decisions;
  • copy, decompile, reverse engineer, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Services, except to the extent permitted by mandatory law;
  • use the Services in any unlawful way or in a way that could harm their operation, security, or other users; or
  • behave in a threatening, harassing, or otherwise inappropriate manner towards our staff or support team; or
  • in Pheno Leagues and league chat: harass or threaten other players, share another person’s personal or health information without their permission, give health or medication advice as if it were professional advice, send spam, impersonate someone, or choose an offensive player name.

9.Intellectual Property

Pheno owns or holds all necessary rights to the Services, including the software, content, design, trademarks, and the methodologies behind our scores and insights. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms. Your own data remains yours. All other rights are reserved, and nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property right to you.

10.Service Availability and Beta Features

We aim to keep the Services available around the clock but may need to perform maintenance or may experience interruptions. Parts of the Services may be offered on a beta or pre-release basis and may include experimental features that are incomplete or subject to change. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and we disclaim all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms, including any warranty that insights are fit for health-related decision-making.

10a.Pheno Leagues

Pheno Leagues is an optional competition feature, currently offered as a pilot, and may change or end. Tables, rankings, points and awards in leagues are part of a game — they are not a medical assessment and should not be used as a basis for health decisions. Awards and items in leagues have no monetary value and cannot be bought.

You are responsible for what you write in league chat and for what you choose to share about yourself. A league’s owner can remove messages in their league and end the league. Pheno may remove messages, change an inappropriate player name, or suspend you from leagues or chat if you breach Section 8. You can leave a league at any time, and your chat messages in that league are then deleted.

11.Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pheno is not liable for interruptions, losses, or damage that result from:

  • your own equipment, software, or network connection;
  • third-party services or content, including third-party data you upload;
  • viruses or security breaches that could not reasonably have been prevented; or
  • events outside our reasonable control (see Section 14, Force Majeure).

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under mandatory law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence and any mandatory consumer rights you have.

12.Suspension and Termination

You may close your account at any time from within the Services or by contacting support@pheno.health. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you materially breach these Terms, misuse the Services, attempt to obtain unauthorised benefits, or act in a way that poses a risk to the Services’ operation, security, or staff. On termination your right to use the Services ceases. Some data may be retained after termination where required by law or for the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims, as described in our Privacy Policy.

13.Changes to the Services and These Terms

We may develop and change the Services and update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will give notice by appropriate means in the Services or by updating the “Last Updated” date below. If you do not accept a change, you may stop using the Services and close your account. Your continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14.Force Majeure

Pheno is not responsible for any failure or delay in performing its obligations caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to war, acts of government, changes in law, labour disputes, fire, flood, natural disasters, pandemics, and disruptions to power, telecommunications, or internet infrastructure. While such an event continues, our affected obligations are suspended. If it continues for a prolonged period, we may terminate the agreement with immediate effect, and we will take reasonable steps to limit its effects.

15.Assignment and Subcontractors

We may engage subcontractors and processors to operate and develop the Services, and we may assign or transfer this agreement in connection with a merger, acquisition, or other transfer of our business. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent.

16.Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by Swedish law. This does not deprive you of any mandatory protection you are entitled to under the consumer law of your country of residence. Disputes shall be settled in the first instance by the Stockholm District Court (Stockholms tingsrätt), unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
